Jill K. Spineti: In 1998, Jill joined the staff of The Governor's Prevention Partnership and
currently oversees all of the Partnership's program areas including the Connecticut
Mentoring Partnership, an initiative that supports school and community-based
mentoring programs statewide with training, technical assistance and other support.
Under her direction, the partnership works with over 60% of the state's school
systems to serve children in grades K-12 with mentoring programs and student assistance
programs and is currently developing a new urban mentoring initiative
A 1990 graduate of the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of General Studies
degree focusing on human services and family development, Ms. Spineti has an extensive
background in volunteer management and is former president of the Association
of Administrators of Volunteer Services. She has worked with faith-based and other
organizations in designing and developing their volunteer programs and has presented
at the annual CT volunteer conference for the past several years. She currently
serves as the president of Footlights, Inc. a not-for-profit after school performing
arts program for teenagers in Hartford and has recently joined the board of Family
Life Education, a program that empowers and educates young people in Hartford.
