The American Medicine Chest Challenge

Join community leaders from across the state for the launch of Connecticut's involvement with The American Medicine Chest Challenge (AMCC)!

The American Medicine Chest Challenge is a community based public health initiative, with law enforcement partnership, designed to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug abuse and provides a nationwide day of disposal.  The American Medicine Chest Challenge provides a unified national, statewide, and local focus to the issue of medicine abuse by children and teens.  It challenges Americans to take a 5-step challenge.  The program is provided without cost to any community, government, or law enforcement agency in the country.  This particular program was highlighted in the 2010 Strategy Review of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.

Connecticut will be joining the 37 states who have previously participated in the American Medicine Chest Challenge. This year's National Take Back Day will be held on November 12, 2011.
