Alyson King (second from left) and Catherine LeVasseur (second from right) were two of a handful of determined high school and college students "lobbying" to convince the State of Connecticut General Assembly to pass a new law holding parents and other adults who host underaged drinking parties legally accountable.  After five years of hard work and dogged resolution, and with the training and support of The Governor's Prevention Partnership, they prevailed.

On October 1, 2006 the "social host law" went into effect.  Instrumental in the victory were Sen. Andrew McDonald (D-Stamford) (far left) and Rep. Michael Lawlor (D-East Haven) (far right).
