2012 National Mentoring Month

Invest In The Future. Mentor A Child.

January is National Mentoring Month.

In Connecticut, the National Mentoring Month campaign is spearheaded by The Governor's Prevention Partnership and nationally by the
Harvard Mentoring Project, MENTOR and the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Mentors are honored at events throughout the state in January.  Highlights of Connecticut Mentoring Month 2012 include:

  • January 11, 2012 - "I am a Mentor" Social Media Day Join with youth mentors and mentoring programs around the country on January 11 and help inspire others to learn about mentoring and how they can make a difference in the life of a child.
  •
  • January 26, 2012 - Thank Your Mentor DayTM - Honor an important mentor in your life. On this day, many Americans will reach out to thank or honor those individuals who encouraged and guided them and had a lasting impact on their lives.  Thank Your Mentor DayTM promotes "Three Ways to Honor Your Mentor":  1) contact your mentor directly to express your appreciation; 2) pass on what you received by becoming a mentor to a young person in your community; and 3) write a tribute to your mentor by posting on our Facebook page. Click on the "CT Mentor Moments" event and share your story!
  • April 4, 2012 - Annual Mentoring Corporate Honor Roll Breakfast
