  • The National Institute on Drug Abuse has released the results of the 2016 Monitoring the Future Survey. This annual survey of 8th, 10th and 12th graders nationwide looks at alcohol, drug and tobacco use and related attitudes.

  • While many Connecticut students will be honored with end-of -year school awards, Putnam High School Junior Jozzlynn Lewis has earned a coveted spot on a national teen board...“Jozzlynn was one of only 15 young people from across the country who was chosen. It is quite an honor!” said Jill Spineti, President & CEO, The Governor’s Prevention Partnership (The Partnership). “This is also significant for The Partnership because this is the first time in ten years that we have had a youth from Connecticut involved in a national SADD initiative.”

  • More than 100 policy experts, legislators, and youth advocates gathered at “Marijuana Policy Boot Camp: Engage, Equip, Empower” for a statewide discussion focused on the fallacies that surround legalization of recreational marijuana in Connecticut.

  • The Governor’s Prevention Partnership wants to inform parents and teens of ways to avoid mixing those parties with alcohol. Jill Spineti, President and CEO of The Governor's Prevention Partnership, and high school student Amritha Anup, joined FOX 61 Good Day Connecticut to talk about bringing awareness about the dangers of mixing teens and a drinking.

  • In 2015, The Partnership surveyed mentoring programs statewide to provide an updated picture of mentoring in Connecticut. This brief report highlights the status of mentoring in the state, updated information on the challenges mentoring providers face serving youth in our state and the importance of continued support for mentoring as a strategy to help at-risk youth.
