How to Create a Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program


Peer to Peer mentoring is a relationship between two youth of different ages, where the goal of the relationship is for the older youth to positively support some aspect of the younger child's development.  Learn how to start a Peer to Peer Mentoring Program or enhance your existing program and reach more youth.



Participants will:

  • Implement recruitment strategies for recruiting youth mentors
  • Identify strategies that work for youth mentors;
  • Develop a customized Peer to Peer program
  • Receive a basic youth mentor training outline and a generic youth mentor handbook.

    Who Should Attend? School, business, community and faith-based staff members who are responsible for running mentor program and/or staff who are directly responsible for training mentors.  


    When:    Monday, March 12, 2012; 8:30am - 3:30pm
    Where:   Anthony Gallicchio Training Facility(MDC), Hartford CT
    Cost:      $95 per person
                  $76 per team member
    (team consists of 3-5 people)
