MENTORING’S IMPACT AND INNOVATION

February 2018

A Message from Hannah

Dear Colleagues:

December signifies the end of the 2017 calendar year. It also means holiday celebrations including Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and New Years. It is a perfect time to reflect on the benefits of mentoring for Connecticut’s youth.

Every day, the media and research reminds us that our youth and families are struggling, yet we know that we are impacting them in so many positive ways.   Sometimes our task seems daunting. Every time a youth or a family requests a mentor, we are once again revitalized by the work.    It is very important for each of us to take time and reflect on what the past year brought us.  As 2017 comes to a close, review what you have gained, what you have lost, and find out how YOU will start your 2018.

We look forward to connecting with all of you during National Mentoring Month.  Best wishes and joy to each of you!
