A Message from Roland Harmon

Dear Friends,

Season’s Greetings. We wish peace to all of our partners in Connecticut. As the holidays are quickly approaching, let’s give the gift of joy to youth in Connecticut. The holidays are a time for family and friends to gather, but let’s remember our promise to keep Connecticut youth safe during this special season. It is so easy get distracted while driving.

In this issue, AAA has provided us with some great tips to stay safe this season to share with parents, caregivers and young people:

  1. Put aside your electronic distractions. Don’t use cell phones while driving – handheld or hands-free – except in absolute emergencies.
  2. To avoid temptation, power down or stow devices before heading out.
  3. If another activity demands your attention, instead of trying to attempt it while driving, pull off the road and stop your vehicle in a safe place.

The Governor’s Prevention Partnership is making a commitment to pay attention and eliminate the distractions. We hope you will join us and share this gift as well. For additional safety tips for the holidays visit http://exchange.aaa.com/safety/distracted-driving/tips-for-preventing-distracted-driving/#.Wh7dWmfruM8.

Best wishes for peace and joy during this holiday season!
