Association For Conflict Resolution - The Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) is a professional organization
dedicated to enhancing the practice and public understanding of conflict resolution.
The Education Section provides resources and support for practitioners, educators,
students, young people, trainers, community activists, and administrators in the
fields of peace and conflict resolution in settings ranging from pre-K-12 to college/university.
Included are the new national standards for peer mediation programs.
Conflict Resolution Education: A Guide to Implementing Programs in Schools, Youth-Serving Organizations, and
Community and Juvenile Justice Settings - This is an excellent, timeless resource
that covers a basic understanding of conflict, the four main approaches to implementing
conflict resolution education, parent/community initiatives, research & evaluation,
developmentally appropriate practices and how to establish a program.
Conflict Resolution Education Connection- Here is a Web site devoted to the promotion of conflict resolution education
throughout the world. Some of its goals are to promote best practice in the field
of CRE by defining the field, its components, and its accomplishments; to serve
as a clearinghouse of information on state-of-the-art developments in the CRE
field including policy and legislation, current research, service delivery initiatives
and organizations, and developments in related fields; and provide CRE instructional
materials to formal and informal educators working in K-16 learning.
Conflict Resolution Education Research and Evaluation Bibliography - This is a compilation of research and evaluation information on conflict resolution
education programs in schools. This collection includes information on academic
research published in dissertations and theses, U.S. Department of Education document
references published in ERIC, and unpublished project evaluation reports prepared
for school systems or for organizations that funded the project.
Conflict Resolution Resources - Here is a broad listing of various books and curricula for teaching conflict
resolution. Some of the contact information may be outdated, but the resources
are good.
Conflict Resolution Training Found to Curb School Violence - An article describing training about conflict resolution that increased students'
knowledge of non-violent means to resolve conflict; facilitated a more positive
attitude about non-violent conflict resolution methods; and reduced the frequency
of violent confrontations in the school.
CR Info: The Conflict Resolution Information Source - CRInfo (pronounced "See Our Info") stands for "conflict resolution information
source." It is a free service, funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.
As a "linking" site, our staff of editors maintains a keyword-coded catalog of
over 20,000 Web, print, and organizational resources, as well as event listings
and other conflict resolution-related resources. The section on Education is
an excellent resource for educators, with links to programs and teaching materials.
Educators for Social Responsibility - Educators for Social Responsibility (ESR) helps educators create safe, caring,
respectful, and productive learning environments. We also help educators work
with young people to develop the social skills, emotional competencies, and qualities
of character they need to succeed in school and become contributing members of
theircommunities.
National Youth Violence Prevention Resource Center - The center's fact sheet on conflict resolution defines the process, explains
briefly how it works, gives tips on what you can do and provides resources for
more information.
Ohio Commission on Dispute Resolution &Conflict Management: Information for
Schools - The goal of this section is to provide educators and schools with resources
to help in resolving disputes in the most efficient way possible while reducing
the chance of violence, building positive relationships and helping disputants
reach win-win situations.
Evaluating Your Conflict Resolution Education Program: A Guide For Educators And Evaluators - This manual is intended to help educators
and/or evaluators conduct evaluations of their conflict resolution education programs.
It was created as a workbook so that it should be easy to use. Throughout the
beginning parts of the manual there are worksheets to help you identify the program
goals and evaluation goals you want to emphasize. Questionnaires and interview
questions can be copied from the book and used in your school.
