Introduction

Mentoring works. We see it every day - children who enroll in mentoring programs are more likely to complete their education and have a more productive life. The Partnership understands how many responsibilities you have and we're here to help guide you every step of the way, as we strive together to match a mentor with every child in Connecticut who needs one. Search for Mentoring Programs or Add Your Program to the Mentoring Connector

The Governor’s Prevention Partnership is excited to partner with MENTOR The National Mentoring Partnership to utilize The Mentoring Connector, MENTOR’s national database of mentoring programs. The Mentoring Connector is a free service that helps quality youth mentoring programs across the country recruit more local volunteers while greatly increasing visibility for their organizations. Anyone interested in becoming a mentor can search for mentoring opportunities by zip code, ages of youth served, and program type to find and contact programs that interest them.

Youth mentoring programs meeting baseline quality standards as outlined in the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring™ will be added to the publicly-searchable referral database. Programs that are not approved for public search due to not meeting baseline standards will remain in MENTOR’s database to inform aggregate data which is used by researchers, policy advocates and their network of Mentoring Partnerships to inform the national conversation about the importance of youth mentoring in the US.
