The theme of this year's summit is Advancing Social Equity in Youth Mentoring.
This free 2-day summit focuses on bringing policymakers, mentoring professionals, researchers, and advocates together to discuss mentoring to reduce social inequities and promote youth success and well-being.
Our featured presentations include:
- An exploration of mentoring approaches that resonate with today’s youth and strategies for mentoring programs to foster youth empowerment by Brian Sales and Steve Vassar.
- A dialogue between seasoned mentoring experts Jean Rhodes and Torie Weiston Serdan on future directions in youth mentoring, supportive accountability, and effective program evaluation strategies.
The summit will examine:
- How the changing social climate shifts the focus of youth mentoring.
- Opportunities to advance social equity through culturally responsive strategies that amplify diverse youth voices.
- Evidence-based approaches to the design, implementation, and evaluation of youth mentoring.
- How mentoring and innovative use of new tools and technologies can empower mentors.
Featured Experts
We are now seeking presentation proposals for our 2021 Connecticut Mentoring Summit: Advancing Social Equity in Youth Mentoring. This summit will provide opportunities for policymakers, mentoring professionals, researchers, and advocates to discuss the state of youth mentoring in Connecticut and evidence-based approaches to reduce social inequities and promote youth success and well-being. We invite mentoring providers, researchers, K-12 educators, community leaders, administrators, non-profit partners, government agencies, and other professionals to participate in this two-day virtual event, which will be held February 18 - 19, 2021.
Please review the attached "Call for Proposals" guidelines document below, and submit your proposals by January 12, 2020.
