The Governor’s Prevention Partnership COVID-19 Coronavirus Update

As the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak continues, we are adhering to Governor Lamont’s recommendations about private employees working from home, if possible. The Governor’s Prevention Partnership is now operating on a fully remote basis. Our initial plan is to go remote through the end of March, but we will re-evaluate the timeframe based on this developing situation.

Our first priority is the health and safety of our staff, but we also recognize that many of the young people we serve may need our work now more than ever.

Moving forward, we have developed a robust plan to ensure that our work continues uninterrupted. This includes facilitating trainings and focus groups online using Zoom, giving staff access to the technology that they need to effectively work from home, and re-scheduling larger events for later in 2020.

We have also distributed recommendations to mentoring providers so that mentors can safely continue working with mentees during the COVID-19 outbreak and have created a resources page on our website.

Thank you for your support during this time. By working together, we can limit the spread of the coronavirus, while continuing our core mission of helping young people across all Connecticut communities.

Stay Healthy,

Roland Harmon
