Meet The Newest Partnership Staff Member

Rebekah Behan  Position: Program Manager, Training and Technical Assistance

Rebekah grew up in Newington, Connecticut where she still resides with her husband, Jay and two boys, Harper age 5 and Hudson age 3. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Youth Psychology from Eastern Connecticut State University.

Prior to coming to The Partnership, Rebekah spent 15 years at Klingberg Family Centers, the last ten as the Youth Services Coordinator providing oversight and direct service work for their One on One and Juvenile Justice Mentoring Programs.

She identified her parents as mentors who are extremely involved in her life and supportive of everything she has done. As a softball player, Rebekah had a couple of coaches that were mentors to her as well. They were passionate, committed, available, confident, structured, fun and so much more. They did all these things without knowing it and just because they believed in her. Rebekah is still connected to them to this day.

In her previous job, Rebekah was lucky enough to have worked closely with The Partnership for over three years as a program provider. She discovered her niche in mentoring and is excited for the opportunity to have joined the organization that will push her to challenge herself. She looks forward to working more closely with a network of amazing juvenile justice mentoring providers in her new position.

When asked to comment about the power of mentoring, Rebekah said: “I believe mentoring really works. I believe everyone needs connection and mentoring is a good avenue for positive connection and relationships, especially for the kids who are yearning for it even when they don’t know they are yearning for it.”
