Prevention Partners:

As summer approaches, more and more teens are on the roads.  The time between Memorial Day and Labor Day has been referred to as the “100 deadliest days” for teen drivers.  When school is out, the focus of teens shifts to fun.  Underage drinking and substance use increase during this time and unfortunately, motor vehicle accidents due to impaired driving increase among young drivers.  Prevention providers have an opportunity to address this issue, supporting young people to make good decisions, educating parents, and advocating for the use of effective prevention strategies in the communities you serve.  It is an opportunity to put an end to the “100 deadliest days”.
